The cruise ship has set sail, destination unknown. Besides the fun lies in the journey, the end is bittersweet. It's now that everyone, the fiery elderly couple, the innocent children, even the ship's captain, sees their hearts take flight. Unparalleled joy is intoxicating, the day of festivities ahead will prove that.

8:20:11 AM

There's a cabin down the hall where laughing can be heard. Childish strangers come together around a guitar, a paper mache campfire set up in the middle. None of them really knows how to play, but the chirps, hollers, and whistles prove that a budding collective can still have fun.

8:38:10 AM

The cruise makes a stop on the outer skirts of Cape Cod, a premier summer destination. In the distance a jamboree with posh twenty something's gossiping about each other can be seen. Proper but careless, the group is stuck in a dimension where anything goes but in the way of class.

Taking advantage of the long day, those out partying see no end in sight, the sun's burning gaze the only indicator as to how much time has passed. They celebrate nothing except existence, joining together to enjoy the warmth beaming down on them. Picnic tables littered with food and beverages galore.

Down the beach there's a couple, seemingly so, alone and separate from the group. Nothing but a towel is keeping them from the ground, their quaint mannerisms suddenly erupt into discomfort as one begins to beg the other for forgiveness. A summer fling gone wrong with feelings not mutual.

After hitting snooze you quickly realize the fantastical vision was merely a dream. You harp on this, wishing for true love that won't vanish when the summer ends. Lying alongside this love, eyes locked in pleasantries, life's quite alright. It may not be a cruise but here together we're in perfect harmony.

9:18:20 AM

The sun begins to blossom, emerging from underneath us all. It permeates heat onto the porch where you and a love sit, sipping coffee, spending much of the time in silence. Everything remains in motion but the past, and that past, filled with insecurities, intends to disgruntle the present.

In a moment of minimal revelation the record player skips, crackling the vinyl that carries over it. An inconvenience to those who fail to see its appeal, giving freedom to ad-lib over the 70's soul stuck on loop. Rapping does the trick, spitting the troubles away as everything falls into place.

9:40:08 AM

Time passes and repetition ensues, forcing a new vinyl to take its place. "The one about the angel!" our love cries out. Penetrating even the staunchest, the song bustles with passion as heartfelt emotion pours out. A janky two-step, the tune immediately reminds us all why we feel love.

Smiles abound as each reflect about what love means. What is it about today that's causing such embrace? You hear a neighbor begin to practice his drums in the garage, quiet enough to not disrupt those still sleeping. It matches the tone of your vinyl, balance between past and present is restored.

10:06:51 AM

Summer's perfect day is too nice to be spent in a cubicle so calling out sick stands to be the best option. Might not actually be sick, feeling great in fact, but enjoying sunlight is a syndrome and as funky tunes dance giddy along in the back it's one you can't pass up.  Feeling free and fine with no 9-5.

10:17:16 AM

The sun is still fresh and a wild forest left (almost) untamed sits behind the house. Flower blossoms guide the entrance to a wooded but identifiable path. The unintelligible sounds of wildlife call you in with welcoming arms as the predators sleep their days away. Serenity overtakes the scenery.

10:33:09 AM

A path must lead somewhere, in this case taking travelers to a park on the outskirts of a housing project. A sense of importance overtakes you as the lives of thousands have changed here, stories untold, both good and bad. You sit on a bench missing half its back as a squad of teens shoot hoops nearby.

10:39:31 AM

As the crowd of late-comers begins to build, couples wandering about, seniors taking a brisk stroll, you reminisce on past events between you and this splotchy patch of land. Those summers spent on the green lawn, swaying on newly laced swings, playing tag with a couple school friends.

10:50:15 AM

Enough dilly-dallying, the summer's about going to get yours. The city streets are littered with objective bad boys up to no good, and sometimes being a rebel yourself ain't so bad of an endeavor. As long as it's all in good fun, the heat may bring tempers out but as long as you play it cool you're all good.

11:08:42 AM

A night of escapades reveals itself to be only that of a wet dream. Feeling's are still there so a late start to the day won't dismay one from getting their desires. So fresh, so clean you leave your house feeling like hot stuff, seeking anyone for mutual companionship of sexual desires.

11:27:32 AM

What's a summer day without the fleeting impulse to go on a road trip? There's nothing better than driving with the top down, drinking soda pop, tuning the radio to something uncharacteristic to your tastes from a few months ago when snow covered the grounds. All that's left is the clean air.

11:34:06 AM

Long drives mean free time to reflect on the best of our friendships. With three passengers in tow the school where you grew up, the local diner where you ate, and the park where you played catch all fly by, causing reactions from your fellow compadres. On this day the bad spots are blurred out.

11:40:26 AM

As the highway approaches speed increases and a blast of wind hits our faces, with hair trying to escape our scalps. Desertion doesn't just face our tiny strands, our bodies wish to escape the confines of our hometown just as well. The music can't compete with the consonant noise surrounding the car.

11:55:29 AM

Soaring over our heads is an airplane set to land where we set to take off. Another can be seen in the distance, and as we approach the strip the white noise of jets fill our ears. Rather than puncturing them they're quite soothing, buzzing through different layers, pitches, and tempos.
