Curate This - Mechanical Failure

If there weren't already enough curated mixes strewn about the Internet, Dozens Of Donuts is here to add more. Rather than analyze a burgeoning genre, herald the best of a past one, or merely formulate background music for study sessions, road trips, or midday snoozes, Curate This aims to immerse listeners in a niche aesthetic that enraptures and vitalizes. With written accompaniment to provide the expository backdrop, these songs flow - errantly or harmoniously - around particular moods, sensory emotions, and pertinent tones. Humans breed destruction. Near perfection, given to us by Mother Earth, abused and tormented to the brink of collapse.

Poly. Polysiloxanes, Polyethylene, Polystyrene. Silicone oozes from metal fixtures, rubber melts into the floor. Liquid gels bubble and boil in vats of unknown substances. Materials move with a mind of their own, grinding drills to a halt, hastening the velocity of hydraulic presses. Latex stretches down conveyor belts ad infinitum, as clamorous pops ricochet off austere, concrete walls. Inadequate bodies run frantic, sounding alarms jolted with agitated sparks.

Pandemonium ensues. Generators fail and pipes burst. Fires ignite dangling inflammables, as water surges out from fissured wooden doors. Machines prone to routine convulse with the touch of either, as flame meets fluid at the conflux of electricity. Herds of livestock are dragged out for the culling, cages of capital, more important than the proletarians saving them. Demands extend from faceless suits behind siren warnings; cutthroat and pitiless.

Left to corrode, the factory descends. Mortal beings - at least those left with a beating heart - have escaped. Brass engines send out heaving plumes as their ancillary parts melt away, rupturing the ground upon which they collapse. Shrapnel from repulsed components smack and slice tilted pillars, causing catastrophe as the weight begins to buckle. Inside, a cockroach watches as its world comes crashing down.

All that's left is rubble. Flashes of voltaic discharge ring through buzzing like lightning bolts concealed by thunder. Smoke engulfs the facility, leaving an imitative shadow in its wake. Responders appear, geared and ready, scouring the debris for any recollection of life. Survivors all but nil. And even amidst the chaos, assembly lines - twisted and mangled - still churn out product. Inconceivable, yet material nonetheless.
