Big Boi Announces Game of Thrones Inspired Mixtape

No, that is not a title taken from The Onion. Big Boi has announced to Revolt TV, that he will indeed be apart of a Game of Thrones inspired mixtape. Antwan Patton made the statement in an interview with Sharon Carpenter, and while details are obviously unclear, it seems as if the tape will only feature one song from the famed Outkast rapper. Whether or not Big Boi is helming this project, in similar fashion to his Got Purp Vol.2 mixtape, is unclear but what he did confirm is that both Washington D.C. rapper Wale & Chicago wordsmith Common will both appear on the mixtape, along with a few other surprise guests.

The news, while not groundbreaking, is rather bizarre in that no news of its creation was ever revealed until today. Big Boi even went so far as to state that the mixtape would be out within a couple weeks. I can't say much other than that listening to it, especially for diehard Game of Thrones fans, may be an interesting experience.

Unrelated to the aforementioned project Big Boi once again denounced plans for a new Outkast album, something fans have been clamoring about since their last release Idlewild in 2006. And while the traction may be there this year with the duo's 40 festival tour to celebrate their debut album's 20 year anniversary soon to begin, no confirmed album is in the works. Just remember, do not believe it until you hear it from the near mute Andre 3000.
